He strolled merrily, a serene look in his gentle face.
A healthy glow in his sun tanned skin.
A gentleman reminiscing in a warm afternoon.
Something is lonely about him despite the smile painted permanently on his lips.
His Eyes.
She strolled with crippling sadness.
A beautiful face tarnished with anger.
A woman despite the worldly beauty is emotionally withering away.
Something is lonely about her despite the air of confidence she carry.
Her Eyes.
Along the riverbed their paths has crossed.
A single nod and slight bow.
A casual smile and tiny curtsy.
Those two pair of lonely eyes.
None in the world could be more agonizing than if you have stood watching those eyes speak the unspoken language of sorrow.
”We share the same fate,I see”
said she
”For both the person we loved now fell in the arms of one another”
Agreed he.
”But then again, we are never the same”
A bitter smile from her
”Quite different, Perhaps too different”
A sweet smile from him.
”You gave her up”
said she.
”I LET her go”
countered he.
“Giving up, letting go, all the same, an act of cowardly”
her voice dripping with contempt
”I beg to disagree. Giving up is when you lose hope and got tired of fighting, Letting go is knowing you still wanted to fight but choosing her happiness even if that happiness is someone else”
his voice sailing with melancholy.
”I would never let him go”
finality in her voice
”One way or another, you have to.”
kindness in his voice.
They both turned away from each other.
Walked different roads.
They both silently sighed.
Choices.
